Shad Marvasti, MD, MPH, DipABFM, DipABLM

Executive Director

Dr. Shad is a nationally recognized leader in integrative health, culinary medicine, and lifestyle medicine who is actively engaged in creating solutions to promote health and longevity. He is a Stanford-trained physician who has over two decades of experience empowering patients and communities to take charge of their health. Acting to transform and redesign medical education, he has served on the faculty at Stanford University and at The University of Arizona (UofA) to train future physicians with the tools they need to prevent and reverse chronic disease by addressing its root causes. At the UofA, he founded the Culinary Medicine Program and his team created a nationally recognized open-access textbook of Culinary Medicine.

As a practicing physician, Dr. Shad provides lifestyle and food prescriptions for his patients to extend their healthspan. He currently serves as the founding Executive Director of Whole Health and the Whole Health Institute at HonorHealth in Scottsdale, Arizona where he is creating innovative clinical models including a longevity program to shift us from “sick” care to health care. Dr. Shad now also serves as Associate Professor of Clinical Practice at the John Shufeldt School of Medicine and Medical Engineering at Arizona State University. Dr. Shad has been featured in national media as a trusted voice on practical, science-based wellness.

Preston Allred

Vice President and Hospital Administrator

Preston Allred has more than 10 years of leadership experience at HonorHealth, where he began as an Administrative Fellow and has held various positions throughout the organization. He currently serves as Vice President and Hospital Administrator, leading the newly acquired Four Peaks and Florence Medical Centers and overseeing key joint‑venture partnerships across the system.

Preston has played a central role in major system initiatives, including leading the development of Sonoran Crossing Medical Center and multiple multimillion‑dollar strategic projects that expanded access and strengthened organizational capabilities. He is also leading the development of HonorHealth’s Health and Wellness Service Line, including its first medical fitness facility focused on advancing “movement as medicine.”

Dr. Allred holds degrees from the University of Arizona and the University of Pittsburgh, as well as a Doctorate in Organizational Leadership and Evidence‑Based Decision Making from Grand Canyon University. He is a Fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives (FACHE).

lindsay bencic

Lindsay Bencic

Senior Director of Health and Wellness Operations

Lindsay brings over 24 years of wellness leadership, driving innovative programs and initiatives at HonorHealth. She is recognized for her strategic vision, operational excellence and dedication to enhancing patient and member experiences.

Holding bachelor’s and master’s degrees in communication, Lindsay leads with clarity and builds strong connections across teams and communities.

Outside of HonorHealth, she is a certified cycle and group fitness instructor, inspiring others to embrace movement and strength. Lindsay’s passion for wellness continues to leave a lasting impact on the lives of those she serves.

Manthan Thaker

Director of Medical Fitness

Manthan brings over a decade of experience connecting clinical care with wellness, designing evidence-based programs that support lifelong health.

He holds a bachelor’s degree in exercise physiology, a master’s in sports management, and certifications as an exercise physiologist (American College of Sports Medicine) and medical fitness facility director (Medical Fitness Association).

Grounded in the medical fitness model and the exercise-is-medicine approach, Manthan focuses on disease prevention, rehabilitation, and wellness through movement, nutrition and education.

Shalini Singh Karnik MD

Shalini Singh-Karnik, MD

Family and Integrative Medicine

Program director, Integrative Medicine Resident Elective
Director, Whole Health Group Medical Visits/Shared Medical Appointments

Dr. Singh-Karnik specializes in whole-body health, integrating clinical hypnosis, mindfulness, acupuncture, and lifestyle medicine to empower patients on their health journeys.

At HonorHealth Integrative Medicine Clinic, she developed group medical visits, food-as-medicine programs, and the Produce Prescription Program, while launching physician-led wellness walks to promote community health.

Dr. Singh-Karnik serves as Assistant Professor of Clinical Medicine at Arizona State University’s John Shufeldt School of Medicine and Medical Engineering, principal investigator on a system-wide produce prescription grant, and holds leadership roles that promote culturally respectful, equitable integrative care.

Suzanne Bartlett Hackenmiller, MD

Suzanne Bartlett Hackenmiller, MD, FACOG, ABOIM, dipABLM, MSCP, is board-certified in OB/GYN, Integrative Medicine and Lifestyle Medicine. Her personal, family and professional experiences motivated her to explore integrative approaches to healing and wellness. As a result, she completed a fellowship with the Andrew Weil Center for Integrative Medicine, as well as certifications in herbal medicine, Ayurveda, and meditation. She is certified as a nature and forest therapy guide and as a Menopause Society Certified Practitioner.

She is an award-winning author and she is also the founder and creator of a program providing parks and trail systems with mental and physical health prescriptions for their users. She speaks internationally about integrative medicine, women’s health, and nature therapy.

Joby Mathews MD

Joby Mathews, MD

Integrative Medicine Physician | Emergency Medicine Physician

Dr. Joby Mathews has practiced emergency medicine since 2008, following his graduation from the University of Connecticut School of Medicine. After more than a decade on the front lines, he witnessed firsthand the profound and often preventable impact of chronic disease—an experience that ultimately drew him to the field of Integrative Medicine.

He completed his fellowship through the Academy of Integrative Health and Medicine (AIHM) in 2023, where he deepened his commitment to whole-person, evidence guided care. Dr. Mathews believes that he and his patients are true partners in the healing process and works to ensure that every patient feels informed, supported, and empowered in their health journey.

His clinical interests include cardiometabolic health and longevity, with a focus on helping patients prevent disease, optimize well-being, and live with vitality at every stage of life.

Originally from Texas, Dr. Mathews has lived in Arizona since 2015. Outside of medicine, he stays active with daily workouts, enjoys watching his favorite Dallas based sports teams and exploring new cultures through travel with his family.

Victoria Cupic, MD

Family Medicine Physician

Victoria Cupic, MD, is a board-certified family medicine physician specializing in lifestyle medicine, preventive care and hormone replacement therapy. She offers specialized treatments including pellet insertion for hormone replacement therapy, weight lossmanagement and minor procedures such as suture placement and removal. Her clinical interests include hormone optimization for male and female patients, lifestyle modification and the strategic use of supplements to support whole-body health. 

Dr. Cupic takes a preventive, root-cause approach to patient care, prioritizing shifts in diet, daily habits and targeted supplementation before turning to medications or further interventions. She sees patients through the HonorHealth Lifestyle Medicine Primary Care program, an optional membership-based model that complements medical care with wellness coaching, education and personalized support.  

Her practice emphasizes partnering with each patient to build sustainable lifestyle changes that help prevent and manage chronic disease. 

Originally from Novi Sad, Serbia, Dr. Cupic is fluent in Serbian, Croatian and Bosnian in addition to English. She enjoys yoga, hiking, running and strength training, and is an avid traveler who loves exploring new countries, bringing a well-rounded perspective to her medical practice.

mckenzi dryden

Mckenzie Dryden, RD

Registered Dietitian

Mckenzie is passionate about making nutrition approachable and evidence-based, helping patients achieve lasting, sustainable changes through a personalized approach.

She works one-on-one with patients on medical nutrition therapy for cardiovascular disease, diabetes, weight management, and more, while also leading cooking demonstrations and group discussions through food-as-medicine programs.

Mckenzie earned her degree in nutritional sciences from the University of Arizona and completed her dietetic internship at OSF Saint Francis Medical Center. She is a member of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics, and trained in the low FODMAP diet for IBS through Monash University.

Olga Ruelas

Medical Assistant

Since 2006, Olga Ruelas has been a dedicated Medical Assistant with a passion for patient care. In 2025, she joined HonorHealth Integrative Medicine, working alongside Dr. Singh, Dr. Hackenmiller, Dr. Mathews and Dr. Marvasti. Olga loves being part of a team that focuses on whole-person care, helping patients improve their health through education and lifestyle medicine.

One of the most rewarding aspects of her role is supporting physicians during in-office visits and participating in group activities such as Food as Medicine and Movement classes. Supporting patients on their wellness journeys, while learning and growing with an inspiring team, has strengthened her passion for integrative medicine and caring for others.

Meredith McClure

Registration and Scheduling Specialist

For the past two years, Meredith has served as a registration and scheduling specialist with HonorHealth Integrative Medicine, where she provides a welcoming first point of contact for patients.

She was drawn to integrative medicine through her belief in food as medicine and a deeper, more holistic approach to health and wellness.

Outside of work, Meredith enjoys spending time outdoors in nature, creating artwork and cooking — passions that reflect her appreciation for nourishment and well-being, both in her personal life and in the care experience she helps create for patients.

Claudia Mosher

Registration and Scheduling Specialist

Claudia has served as a registration and scheduling specialist for HonorHealth Integrative Medicine since July 2024, where she helps guide patients as they begin their health journeys. A registered medical assistant since 2019, she brings a strong clinical foundation and a patient-centered approach to her role.

Outside of work, Claudia enjoys staying active and connected to her body through swimming, hiking and dancing. She also enjoys creating flower arrangements and occasionally playing the violin — pursuits that reflect the same care, creativity and attention she brings to those she serves.
